"Pancho" 1931 - 2005 Eldred M. Williams (Pancho) 4/17/1931 - 8/11/2005 A viewing will be held on Wednesday, August 17th from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., with a memorial service starting at 1:00 p.m., at Hillcrest Memorial Park & Mortuary for Pancho Williams who passed away at his home surrounded by his loved ones at the age of 74, on August 11, 2005. Pancho was born in Ventura, California. He started out working as a farm laborer up and down the coast of California until he moved to Bakersfield, at the age of 19. At that time he met his loving wife of 54 years, Cruz Williams. They lived in LA for a short time before coming back to Bakersfield to settle down. He belonged to the Construction Laborers Union 220 while working at Gundlachs for a great number of years. Pancho was a hard worker and loved to joke around with all who knew him. He enjoyed taking his family camping, fishing and loved to bowl. He was preceded in death by his son, Jerry Williams and great-grandson, Zachary Barter. He is survived by his loving wife, Cruz Williams; daughter and son-in- law, Lorraine and Joseph Hernandez; sons, Alex and Steven Williams; daughter and son-in-law, Rosemary and Hector Hernandez; and daughter, Isabel Williams. He will be greatly missed by his 14 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren and numerous other family members and special friends. Our family would like to thank Optimal Hospice and their wonderful staff, Adrianne Willard, RN and Claudia Sanchez for the wonderful care that was given to him in his last few months of life.
