Mr. Williams was born in Indianapolis, Ind., on Nov. 10, 1916. He was a technician 4th grade in the United States Army, serving in the Asiatic Pacific theatre during World War II. He was employed in the manufacturing industry as a tool grinder for 20 years. Mr. Williams moved to the Tehachapi area in 1982. He was known to everyone as Charlie. He would go to the Village Grille weekly with his friend, Jim, and meet all of his friends there. Charlie would order his usual, pancakes and coffee, give the waitress a bad time and joke with them each time he went there. Then off to the Moose Lodge for more coffee with his Moose buddies. He was a coffee man. Charlie was loved by everyone who knew him. His neighbors and their children loved him like he was their grandpa and they will miss him very, very much as all his friends will. Charlie was a special person to everyone who knew him. He always greeted everyone with his hugs and his terrific smile. All of his family is going to miss him as he was loved by them all. Charlie is survived by his sons, Ronald Williams and his wife Yvonne, of Tehachapi; Terry Williams and his wife Lynn, of Costa Mesa; granddaughter, Tammy Vukovitch, of Colorado; and great-granddaughter, Angela Vukovitch. Charlie was married to Lois Irene for 50 years until her death in 1988. Theirs was a love that lasted forever. They’re together now and the love they have is the best ever. Dr. Marvin Slifer officiated at the service. Interment followed immediately at the Tehachapi Public Cemetery, Westside. Wood Family Funeral Service handled the arrangements.
