Gary Bashor will officiate and interment will follow at Union Cemetery. Mary Delia Williams was born to Bakersfield pioneers, Ira and Agnes Williams on January 31, 1919 in Bakersfield, California. She graduated from Kern County Union High School in 1936. Mary Dee Williams, as she was known by many, was the school secretary at Beardsley School until her marriage to Edward Allen Shaw on November 24, 1946. She was a longtime member of Phi Epsilon Phi Sigma Chapter sorority and worked for the family business of Elmer F. Karpe Insurance. Mary is survived by one son, Allen M. Shaw and wife, Konstine, of Bakersfield; one daughter, Elizabeth Shaw Jordan and husband, Jerry of Sacramento; and grandchildren, Eric Allen Shaw, Ryan Edward Shaw, Kristen Louise Shaw, Hilary Kaye Jordan, and Leslie Rebecca Jordan. She was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, Edward Allen Shaw and her sister, Ramona Williams Wren. Visitation begins Tuesday, September 6th, from 9-10 a.m., in the Hopson-Anspach Chapel.
