Funeral services will be held Friday, August 19, 2005, at 11 a.m. at Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church, 825 California Ave. His brother, Pastor Clarence Wilson of Body of Christ Fellowship is officiating with interment to follow with a Veterans Ceremony at Union Cemetery. Thomas (TC) Wilson was born in Bakersfield, California on January 4, 1947 to Minnie and Jeff Wilson. Thomas was the third oldest of six children. Thomas was known as Top Cat by his friends because of his leadership and later just TC. He attended McKinley Elementary, Emerson Jr. High, Bakersfield High School, and Bakersfield Jr. College. Immediately after graduating from high school, TC enlisted in the Air Force, where he served as a jet aircraft technician. TC met and later married Shirley Wofford. They were blessed with two children, a son, Monte and a daughter, Micah. TC accepted Christ early in his life, under the leadership of the late Rev. H.A. Green, at the Mt. Zion Missionary B.C., where he was a member of the Shepherd Boys League and the Jr. Usher Board. TC later moved his membership to Body of Christ Fellowship under the leadership of his oldest brother, Clarence. For many years TC worked at Bakersfield Jr. College, where he ran the Duplicating Department. During that time he took up photography as a hobby. His hobby later became his profession and Photo by TC was born. TC will always be remembered for his love of people and his concern for his fellow mans soul. He had a great need to share his talents with young people. He had a tremendous capacity for giving to others regardless of color or race. Hell be remembered for his love of a good debate (which he usually won), and his graceful skating abilities. TC leaves to cherish his precious memories, his faithful companion, Shirley; his son, Monte and daughter, Mica; his daughter-in-law, Selina; granddaughters, Madison and Miya; his parents, Minnie and Jeff Wilson; sister, Gloriah (husband, Jimmy); brothers, Clarence (wife, Sylvia), Curtis (wife, Joyce), Frank (wife, Denise) and George (wife, Kiki); nieces, nephews, aunts, uncle, cousins, dear friends and working partners, Ron Littlejohn and Floyd Johnson, and a host of other longtime family friends.
