Woodward Services: Mon., Aug. 8, 10:00 a.m. Glenn Howard Woodward was born August 15, 1909 in Cedarview, Utah and died August 3, 2005, in Bakersfield, CA, at the age of 95 years, 11 months and 19 days. He was the 3rd of 8 children born to Morris and Jennie Dennis Woodward, all of whom preceded him in death. He married Annie Groom on July 24, 1934, in Fresno, CA. They had one daughter, Grace Woodward Jackson. Annie died May 24, 1975. He married Billie Nicholson Mills on January 18, 1978. Glenn was a hard worker and spent most of his adult life working in the oil industry. He retired as a Drilling Superintendent from Gulf Oil Corporation in 1971. Then he went into consulting for Gulf Oil Corp., Mariposa Petroleum and Hamilton Brothers until his second retirement in 1979. At the time of his death he was a member of Camp Azusa in the Sierras and enjoyed spending his summers there with his many friends and family. Glenn was an avid fisherman and taught many how to fish. He loved the outdoors. Friends and family alike all enjoyed Glenns sense of humor. He was proud of the fact that he was the patriarch of 5 generations. His grandchildren would always bring a smile to his face, for he loved them all very much. He will be missed by all. Glenn is survived by his wife, Billie; daughter and son-in-law, Grace and Floyd Jackson; grandchildren, Glenn Jackson, Cheryl Peterson of Bakersfield and Larry Jackson and wife, Adriana of Salt Lake City, Utah; great-grandchildren, Michelle, Robert, Jeff, Chris and wife, Alysa Peterson, Steven and Jennifer Jackson all of Bakersfield, Victoria Jackson of Salt Lake City, Utah and great-great- granddaughter, Amanda Peterson of Bakersfield; stepchildren, Dorena and husband, Larry Oliver, Donna and husband, Jeff Wright, D.J. and wife, Candi Mills and numerous stepgrandchildren and stepgreat-grandchildren. Glenn was a lifetime member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Graveside services will be conducted by Bishop Wilkendorf and Bishop Warren Willson on Monday, August 8th, 10:00 a.m., at Hillcrest Memorial Park. Viewing will be from 4-8 p.m., Sunday August 7, 2005. Pallbearers will be his grandsons and great-grandsons, Glenn, Larry, Steven Jackson and Robert, Jeff and Chris Peterson.
