Soledad Yerena 
Sept. 9, 1933 - August 9, 2005 

Rosary for Soledad Yerena will be held on Thursday, August 11, at 7:00 p.m. at 
Greenlawn Southwest Memorial Chapel, 2739 Panama Lane. Church services will be 
held on Friday, August 12, at 10:30 a.m., at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church, 601 
E. California Ave. Following church services, final resting place will be at 
Greenlawn Southwest Memorial Park. Soledad Yerena was born in Montemorelos, 
Mexico, on September 9, 1933. She passed away in her home in Bakersfield, CA 
on August 9, 2005. Soledad is survived be her daughter, Mary Magda Yerena; 
son, Jose Yerena Jr. and daughter-in-law, Rita Yerena; five grandchildren: 
Edward Martinez III, Lorinda Martinez, Ian Jose Yerena, Cyrus Jose Yerena, 
Juan Yerena, and two step-grandchildren Gabriela Mancera and Katarina Mancera. 
She also leaves behind a special former son-in-law, Alfredo Martinez, whom she 
loved very much. Also, Jose Yerena Torres, former husband and great friend; 
numerous sisters, nephews, and nieces back home. Soledad was a faithful member 
of the La Eade de Oro and attended Sunday services religiously at Sacred Heart 
Church in Greenfield. We will miss her deeply, but feel relief that she is 
with the Lord and no longer suffering from her illness, she fought Lou 
Gehrig's Disease for three and half years. Her love for life has taught us to 
never give up, we thank you for always being there for us when we needed you. 
We Love You Mom.
