Virginia B. Zeak Dec. 19, 1929 - Jan. 15, 2006 Services: Thurs. Jan. 19, 11:00 a.m. Virginia B. Zeak, recently celebrated her 76th birthday and was called to go home to be with the Lord on January 15, 2006. She was preceded in death in 2004, by her husband, Don W. Zeak of almost 57 years of marriage. A loving wife and mother to her children and grandmother to her grandchildren and great- grandchildren. Her constant love, care and ever present positive attitude will be missed. Virginia moved to California in 1954 where her husband had found work, with her then infant son, Donald, later to be blessed with a daughter, Karen in 1957. Numerous moves landed the family in Kern County in 1967 and for the next 39 years, Kern County was her familys home. She is survived by her children, daughter, Karen Harris and son-in-law, Shorty; son, Donald W. Zeak II and daughter-in-law, Shirley; 7 grandchildren, Donna Harris, Sean Harris, Kimberly Blanc and husband, Steven, Kendal Harris and wife, Heidi, Dean A. Zeak, Cassandra D. Zeak and Thomas D. Thompson and 7 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by extended family in Pennsylvania: Jim and Elaine Weaver, Barney Weaver, Mike and Nancy Zeak, Eugene and Florence Zeak, Pat and Mary Zeak, Donnie and Ann Bulger, Dorothy and George Moyer, Theresa Ellenberger, Helen and Chick Biscieglin of New Jersey; many other nieces and nephews from Pennsylvania. Virginia last attended St. Philips on Stockdale Hwy., until she was unable to attend. She read the Bible and prayed daily for her family and friends up until the end. A cancer survivor for the last several years, battling emphysema up until the end. Donations can be made to the American Cancer Society, St. Jude, or to Optimal Hospice of Kern County. The family wishes to give a very special thanks for the loving care and support from Julie Chrisco of Optimal Hospice.
