Funeral services will be conducted by Peters Funeral Home for Carlos R. Diaz, 

age 64, who passed away with his family at his side on September 25, 2004. 

Recitation of the Holy Rosary will be held on Tuesday, September 28, 2004, at 

6 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, September 

29, 2004, at 10 a.m.; both services will be held at St. Thereses Catholic 

Church. Father Thomas ONeill will officiate at both services. 



Carlos was born in Coalcoman, Michoacan, Mexico, to Rafael and Florita Diaz on 

November 28, 1939. He moved to Merced, CA in the mid 1950s, working as a farm 

laborer. He met and married the love of his life, Olga Garza; and produced 7 

beautiful, wonderful children. The family came to Shafter in 1984, where most 

of the children married; and from those marriages came 9 grandchidlren.



Carlos was a very giving man and considered others before himself. He loved to 

barbeque for the whole crowd and made sure all the family was together because 

family unity was very important to him. He was happiest when his grandchildren 

were gathered around him.



Carlos is survived by his beloved wife of 39 years, Olga; his children, Carlos 

Jr. and wife, Patricia and their children, Carlos III and Daniella; Heriberto 

and wife, Kimberly and their child, Ashli; Ernesto Diaz and his son, Isaiah; 

Melissa Ramos and husband, Victor and their daughters, Savanah and Serennah; 

Lydia Garcia and husband; Abel and their sons, Abel Jr. and Jacob; Sylvia 

Espinoza and husband, Mario and their son, Elias; and Corina Diaz; brothers, 

Jesus, Lauriano and Guadalupe Diaz; sisters, Herlinda, Elvira and Candelaria 

Diaz.



Carlos was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather and brother, and his 

family and friends will miss him dearly.
