The news of the death of Mrs. B. K. Sweetland reached this city this morning and while it was known that her health has been none the best of late, the news was somewhat of a shock to the many warm friends of the pioneer family. The news came from Yosemite, where since early in July Mr. and Mrs. Sweetland have been sojourning with the latter's daughter, Mrs. Julius Boysen, the wife of the Yosemite photographer. While the particulars are somewhat vague at this time, it is said that the end came quite suddenly after a spell of apparently improved health. The deceased is one of the daughters of Dr. L.E. Moore, from whom the city of Lemoore got its name, and is one of the oldest residents of this county. In dying she leaves, besides a loving husband and the above mentioned daughter, another daughter, Miss Eulabelle, who is at this time visiting in Yellowstone park, and a sister, Mrs. Jules Fox of Lemoore. The deceased was a large property owner in the city of Lemoore and was looked upon with love and esteem by a host of friends both in that and in this city, which friends now extend their heartfelt sympathy to the sorrowing family. The remains will be brought home and the interment will take palce in the Lemoore cemetery." END [Note that Mrs. Sweetland actually died in Fresno on her way back to Lemoore from Yosemite.] Additional Comments: The Hanford Journal [Hanford, California]. August 22, 1907 [Thursday].
