B. K. SWEETLAND The friends and relatives of Mrs. B[yron] K. Sweetland were shocked to learn this morning that she had died in Yosemite Valley [actually Fresno], where she had gone about one month ago to visit her daughter [Mabel Boysen]. The sad news was received by telephone, and none of the particulars are known. Mrs. Sweetland has been a well-known resident of Lemoore for many years, and was the daughter of Dr. [Lovern] Lee Moore, for whom the city was named. She had been in poor health for a number of years, and before going to the [Yosemite] valley suffered a severe illness. Mrs. Sweetland has been prominent in Lemoore society for many years and was known as a lady who was in accord with all good deeds or work for the uplifting of the community, and her death will be deeply felt among her many friends. B. K. Sweetland, the husband, Miss Eulavelle Sweetland of Lemoore, and Mrs. Boysen residing in Yosemite Valley the daughters, and Mrs. J[ulius] H. Fox of Lemoore, the only sister of the deceased, are left to mourn her death. The remains are expected to arrive tonight, after which the arrangements for the funeral will be made."
