Sweetland in Lemoore. The contracting parties were Miss Mabel, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. B. K. Sweetland, of this place, and Mr. Julius Boysen of Yosemite Valley. The home was very prettily decorated in smilax and violets being the Alpha Club colors of which the bride was a prominent member. After the ceremony which was performed by the Rev. Macon, an elaborate wedding breakfast was served during which many toasts, both laughable and pathetic were responded to. The bridal party took the afternoon train for San Francisco where they will spend their honeymoon. Feb. 20, 1900" and "The reception tendered by young ladies of the Alpha Club to Mrs. Julius Boysen Monday evening was a very pleasant affair. The young ladies and their guests had great fun. Dainty refreshments were served during the evening." and "Miss Eulavelle Sweetland came home from Stanford University to attend the Boysen - Sweetland nuptials." [Eulavelle was the sister of Mabel.]" END Additional Comments: Julius Theodore Boysen had a photographic studio in Yosemite Valley and that is reportedly where he met Miss Mabel Ellen Sweetland in 1899. They were married in Lemoore and jointly ran the "Boysen Studio" until his death in 1939. Mrs. Boysen continued to operate the studio until her death in Yosemite Valley in 1943.
