Palms Man Held Responsible For Bad Auto Crash

Six Injured In Accident Near Culver City; Drunk Driver Blamed

E. MacFarland, a showman of 3712 Westwood boulevard, Palms, was arrested Sunday
night by Santa Monica police after a wreck at Colorado street and Cloverfield
boulevard, when his machine crashed into the front end of a car driven by Philip
Sepulveda, 16, of 1720 22nd street, Santa Monica in which were riding Mrs.
Ernestine Sepulveda, his mother, three brothers and two sisters. Mrs. Sepulveda
suffered a broken collarbone and other members of the family, Roy, 9, Robert, 5,
Rose, 19 and Philip, 16, were cut and bruised. Anna, 11, Richard, 2, were not
injured. MacFarland was cut and bruised.

In a sobriety test in the Santa Monica police station, Dr. D. G. Golding
pronounced MacFarland intoxicated. A charge of driving while intoxicated was
placed against MacFarland.
