Blackwell, wife of W. H. Blackwell of no. 76 Peoria street, and mother-in-law of L. A. Boadway, one of the furniture firm of the Boadway Brothers, was struck by a southbound Pacific Electric car and instantly killed at Bardstown at 6 o'clock last night. Mr. and Mrs. Blackwell were awaiting a car in which to return to Pasadena and were crossing the tracks in front of one that had stopped when the woman was struck by the car that caused her death. Her body was terribly mangled. She was 68? years of age and had lived in Pasadena for about six years. She was a native of Maine, having former lived at Madison, that state. She leaves a son there, C. E. Blackwell, and a daughter, Mrs. L. A. Boadway at No. 252? Oakland avenue, this city. The body was brought to Pasadena and taken to the morgue of Ives & Warren, where the inquest will probably be held.
