A very sad and shocking accident occurred to the little dauther of Mr and Mrs Herman A Foster of Charter Oak, formerly of San Dimas, last Friday afternoon. The little girl, Irene 2 1/2 years old, was alone in the kitchen about 4 o'clock, when her mother, who was upstairs, was attracted by the child's screams. Upon rushing down the little one was found in flames. Mrs Foster wrapped the baby in a rug and ran for a neighbor, but on returning found the child had struggled out and was standing screaming on the back porch. Dr Reed of Covina was called and did all possible to relieve the little sufferer. She lingered in terrible agony until 1 o'clock Saturday morning. The floor was strewn with matches which the child had evidently climed up and secured from the top of the range. The funeral services were held Saturday afternoon. Mr and Mrs. Foster are prostrated by the shock and they have the sympathy of all in their sad bereavement.
