About 7 o'clock, when Mr. Kafitz returned to the house, he found his wife lying dead on the floor. Mr. Kafitz was apparently a healthy woman, and her death was entirely unexpected. The family consists of two grown sons, Federick, who is at home, and Lewis, who has been visiting Germany. Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon at the Congregational Church, and Rev. Schaefle spoke in the highest terms of Mrs. Kafitz, who was greatly esteemed by all who knew her. Appropriate music was rendered by the chorus choir. The pallbearers were Messrs. Pierce, Kluseman, Myers, Holt, Hogstett and Hill. The body will be placed in a receiving vault at Rosedale until the arrival of the son, who is on his way from Germany.
