Havens, a member of the Grand Army, who came to Pasadena from Kansas about a year ago and took up a residence on Brown avenue, died Saturday night after a brief but painful illness. Mr. Havens had made all his arrangements for attending the Encampment at Santa Monica, with his family, but on Tuesday was seized with a chill which was followed with symptoms of internal inflammation, increasing in severity until his death ensued. He leaves a widow, three sons and a married daughter to mourn his loss. The funeral will be under the charge of the Odd Fellows, the G.A.R. Post taking part at the grave.
