Mr. Lewis was caught by the foot and dragged about a hundred yards before the horse was stopped in the rear of the Baptist Church. When assistance reached him he was unconscious. He was removed to his home on Cypress avenue and Dr. McAllister was summoned. The doctor found that one of Mrs. Lewis’s ears had been torn off and he had received a bad scalp wound upon the back of his head. As far as could be ascertained there was no fracture, yet at a late hour last evening consciousness had not returned to him. The cart was completely wrecked.
