Perez, entered this life in Mocorito, Sinaloa, Mexico on August 10, 1920 and went to be with the Lord Jesus Christ on March 3, 2007. Manny came to this country with his mother at the age of 2. They settled in Pasadena whe re Manny would spend the majority of his life. Manny graduated from Pasadena High School and continued his education at Pasadena Community College. While at PCC he was a Pitcher on the baseball team. Manny was proud that in his brief baseball career he twice struck out Jackie Robinson. Manny obtained his associates degree when WWII called him to duty for his country. When the war was won, Manny returned to his home in Pasadena and enrolled at Occidental College. He completed his studies in 1947 earning a B. A. degree. Manny believed that education and knowledge are the paths to wisdom and continued his education at U.S.C. earning a Masters degree in 1951. Manny began his career as an educator with the Pasadena School System. He served as teacher, Vice Principal, and Principal. He completed his career as Dean at Pasadena City College. After retirement Manny tutored in Spanish and served as an executive business consultant. Always active in his community, Manny help found the Pasadena Mexican American History As soc, served on the board for the Pasadena Chapter of the Red Cross, Past President of Crown City Kiwanis and Lt. General of California State Kiwanis. Manny touched the lives of hundreds of people. To know him was to love him. He respected all people and never knew an angry day. His family and friends will forever mourn their loss. but will also glorify in the knowledge that Manny will forever Rest with his Lord Jesus Christ. Manny leaves behind his wife Gloria, three children, six grandchildren, five great- grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
