Publishers (1880) Amaziah Hayden. A native of the State of Maine; was born January 27, 1815. In the year 1837 he went to Illinois, where, he was engaged in farming for two years. He then removed to Wisconsin, and there entered the lumber trade, which he discontinued in 1864 on coming to California, arriving and settling at Novato, Marin county, on November 4th of that year, where he has since resided. Married November 20, 1839, Amanda A. Young, a native of Maine, by whom he has Daniel L. and Alice. Have lost one child, Miner.
