In 1877 the firm became Henley & Rea Company. He married, November 26, 1868, Mary J. Eddy, of Missouri. Their children were Alice, Frank and Samuel. Samuel L. D. with the class of 1896, was an interne in the City and County Hospital of San Francisco, and after one year of practice at Hopland moved to Ukiah, where he has been engaged in a general medical and surgical practice steadily since the latter part of 1898. Doctor Rea is now medical superintendent of the County Hospital. During the World war, in addition to cooperating with other citizens in raising quotas and selling bonds, he acted as a member of the Medical Examining Board. He has served as president of the Mendocino County Medical Society and is a member of the California States and American Medical Associations. Doctor Rea married Stella McCormick, a native of Ukiah. They have two children: Stanley, who is taking the pre-medical course in Leland Stanford University, and Walton Joseph.
