Diary of Etta Stevens Pullen 1864
"July 26, 1864, The Pullen baby taken sick with measles.
July 28, The baby grows worse.
July 30, The baby dreadful sick.
August 1, The baby had a very bad night and very languid.
August 4, The baby died at twele o'clock noon.
August 6, The funeral was at 10 a.m. It was sad to see that pure and innocent 
babe buried in the ground and seems hard; but I suppose it is all for the best-
God's will. This is the first grave in Little River Cemetery."
Etta was 15 at the time she wrote this in her diary.
