Final rites for Ethel Rosy Wimmer, 73, longtime local resident who was found dead at her home Saturday [September 13] on Madden Lane, will be held tomorrow (Thursday) morning at 10 o'clock at the L. P. Anker Mortuary. Willits Chapter, Order of Eastern Star, No. 314, of which Mrs. Wimmer was a longtime member will officiate. Rev. Geo. Fletcher will assist at burial services in Willits Cemetery. Mrs. Wimmer, widow of the late Deed [Eugene D.] Wimmer, a well known early day resident and butcher of the community, apparently passed away of a heart condition, according to authorities following an autopsy. She, presumably, had been dead a few hours when found by a neighbor. A longtime resident, Mrs. Wimmer was well known to old-time families of the community. Both she and her husband were active in civic affairs for many years and he was one of the original sponsors of Frontier Days, Willits' annual celebration. For several years Mrs. Wimmer was a clerk at the Travelers Hotel and more recently followed the same occupation at Hotel Van. She was a native of Missouri. One brother, Walter Dill of Greenfield, Missouri, survives." END Additional Comments: Willits News (Mendocino County, CA). September 17, 1958 (Wednesday).
