"G" Street becomes Snelling Road on the North East side of Merced. Continue on Old Snelling Road for 15 minutes on winding prairie road to stop sign at "T" junction with Highway 59. Turn right on Highway 59 (see sign indicating right turn, 1 mile to Snelling). Pass through town of Snelling. After 2d bend in the road within the town, the road becomes Merced Falls Road (still Highway 59) and you will see Snelling Cemetery on your left just as you are exiting town. Park in front of cemetery. Use www.mapquest.com for "Snelling, California" to obtain for more information and a printable map. Transcriber's notes: This cemetery was reviewed December 26-29, 2002. The cemetery was walked starting from the cemetery's west side graves closest to the highway in rows, moving from the front of the cemetery to the rear and, for the next row, from the rear of the cemetery to the front. Please note that some family stones are located close together but within a number of rows so they do not appear in the un-alphabetized listing as if they are next to each other, when, in fact, they are. When headstones are combined, as in a family or married couple plots, they are so noted or are "joined" without paragraph returns. If separate stones, the names are separated by paragraphs. Most fraternal order icons are noted with capital letters in quotes, e.g. "G" for Odd Fellows. When full specific birth and death dates are inscribed, the dates have been transposed to "standard" for research purposes, e.g. "January 1, 1930" becomes "1 Jan 1930" in this transcription. Every effort has been taken to carefully transcribe headstones and grave markers, however, errors may appear and apologies are respectfully given. Snelling Cemetery (part of the California Tombstone Transcription Project), surveyed, transcribed, proof-read and submitted by Leslie Odell Macchiarella, descendent of Halverson, Sorenson, Geary, with special thanks to Julie V. Macchiarella, Christine Odell Murphy, Mark J. Odell and Viola Geary Odell: Note: Please use 'control/find'. This listing is not alphabetical.
