San Francisco Call, August 6, 1898 
“DIED.  CARRICK -At his ranch near Newman, August 4, 1898, J[ohn] W[illard] 
Carrick, father of Mrs. A[ndrew] A. Brown and Fred A[ndrew] Carrick, a native 
of Maine, aged 76 years. Funeral services this day (Saturday), at 10 o'clock, 
at the house of D[avid] S. Carrick, his brother, 602 East Fifteenth street, 
East Oakland. Interment private. Please omit flowers.” END

Buried in Mountain View Cemetery, Oakland, with his wife, Irene (Huff) Carrick.
