Ambrose (Patrick Martin, John Chase, Augustus C. Aatton, and David Finegan, all of Adin, Modoc county, Cal) Jasper W. Nebeker (Heenan Stanley, Thomas D. Hill, H. P. Anderson, and C. C. Auble, all of Adin, Modoc Co., Cal) Heenan Stanley (Thomas D. Hill, Jasper Nebeker, B. F. Studley, and A. C. Hatton, all of Adin, Modoc Co., Cal) James M. Taylor (A. C. Hatton, B. Hubbard, J. A. Metzler, and J. C. McCown, all of Adin, Modoc Co., Cal) John Petrie (J. H. Fulstone, J. F. Bath, Henry Williams, and G. W. Bennett, all of Adin, Modoc Co., Cal) There has been petty thieving going on in the vicinity of Gouger Neck. A. W. Cook of Bieber is suffering an attack of billious fever, but is recovering under the car of Dr. Jesse. County Treasurer Hyer of Lassen county has taken an assistant in the person of a bouncing boy, born on the 6th inst. Bouchard and Lapoint are settling their mill accounts and preparing to turn the mill over to Shepard and Niles of Yreka. Mrs. Vadney of Ash valley was quite ill last week. Dr. Jesse was summoned and he now reports the patient improving. Died - The infant daughter, aged 5 months of Mr. and Mrs. J. L. Chase, died last Monday morning after several weeks' illness. It had inflammatory rheumatism which went to the heart and caused all suffering to cease. To Lower California - George Payne who has long resided near Lookout, left for Ensendad, Lower California, where he will follow his business of architecture. Mr. Payne thinks he had found a good field in which to accumulate wealth and will send for his family in a short time. Changed Hands - The contract to carry the U. S. mail from Bieber to Clear Lake has been purchased by Mr. John Calison, of Lookout from the former contractor, Frank Nichols. The mail goes from Bieber to Lookout on Mondays, Thursdays, and Saturdays and from Lookout to Clear Lake on Mondays. MORGAN-HIRONYMOUS Married - At Cedarville, Feb. 28th, 1888, by Rev. Potter. Mr. Miles Morgan to Miss Minerva Hironymous. Born - Howe - At Sand creek, Surprise valley, March 4th, 1888, to the wife of W. E. Howe, twins - boy & girl. Born - Ingrane - At Cedarville, Mar 6th, 1888, to the wife of Robert Ingrane, a daughter. Died - Chase - Near Adin, Mar 12th, 1888, infant child of Mr. and Mrs. J. L. Chase, age about 5 months. Died - Holler - Near Cedarville, Mar 9th, 1888, Ada, wife of Edward Holler, aged 21 years.
