Peter Johnson, for over 30 years a well known rancher of the Oasis district, died Wednesday in the Livermore hospital, where he had been taken three weeks ago for a heart ailment. He had been ill for the past three or four months. Born in Denmark, 69 years ago, the deceased came to this country when a young man. Straight to California he made his way, and has lived in the state ever since. Hayward was his first home and he farmed there and in the Mount Edan country for about 15 years. He then moved to his present property in the Oasis country, where he remained until shortly before his death, a respected and well liked member of the community. His widow, Mrs. Mary Johnson, survives him, and also two daughters and one son. They are Mrs. Elmer Forden and Mrs. [Philip] Wayne Henry, both of King City, and John Johnson of Santa Cruz. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. tomorrow, at Foor's funeral home, with burial in the I.O.O.F. cemetery [aka King City Cemetery]."
