CARMEL – Dorothy Deele Sharkey, age 82, passed away April 25, 2004 at Community 
Hospital in Monterey.  Beloved wife of Norman Sharkey of Carmel, she was born 
October 7, 1921 in King City.

Mrs. Sharkey was the valedictorian for the Pacific Grove High School class of 
1939.  She was also a member of the Women’s Club of Carmel and the Community 
Church of the Monterey Peninsula.  Mrs. Sharkey was a graduate of Hartnell 
College.  Mr. & Mrs. Sharkey were married April 17, 1948 in Reno, NV.

Memorial Services Thursday, April 29, 2004 at 2:30 p.m. at Hacienda Carmel West 
Room in Carmel.  Inurnment will be at El Carmelo Cemetery in Pacific Grove.  
Memorials may be made in Dot’s memory to the Hospice Foundation, P.O. Box 1798, 
Monterey, CA 93942.  Arrangements by The Paul Mortuary of Pacific Grove, 375-
4191.” END

Sharkey was the wife of Norman Stone Sharkey (1915-2006).  She was the daughter 
of Joseph H. Bastedo and Ethel May (Henry) Bastedo.
