H. Farley Pioneer Napan Funeral services will be held at 2 o'clock this afternoon from the Treadway Chapel for Edward Henry Farley, 76, pioneer Napan who died Sunday night [April 11] at his home, 1593 Seminary street after a long illness. Once engaged in business here, Mr. Farley had been caretaker of the Methodist Church for five years. Active in affairs of this church he was also prominent in the Native Sons and Napa Grange. He was born March 18, 1861 in the home still standing at 1169 Eggleton street. It was part of his father's 80-acre ranch. His maternal grandfather was John Wooden for whom Wooden Valley was named. He came to California in [1846 in] a covered wagon party [Harlan Party] preceding the Donner Party. Surviving are his wife, Margaret McGugin Farley, a brother, Charles Farley of San Jose, a half brother, Wirt White of Wooden Valley, and a half sister, Mrs. Louise O'Connor of Napa.
