San Francisco Call, January 23, 1908
“DIED. GERLACH. In Napa, Cal., January 21 [22?], 1908, John Gerlach, beloved 
husband of Elizabeth Gerlach, and father of Susie, Louise, Katie, Maria, Anna 
and George Gerlach, and the late Elisa and Harry Gerlach, a native of Nieder 
Weisel, Hessen-Darmstadt, Germany, aged 52 years 10 months and 4 days. Friends 
and acquaintances are respectfully invited to attend the funeral tomorrow, 
(Friday), at 2 o'clock p.m. from his late residence, 5 Randolf street, Napa, 
Cal.” END  

Additional Comments:
San Francisco Call, January 23, 1908 (Thursday), Page 13, Column 5. [similar 
notice in issue of January 24].  State death records have a death date of 
January 22, so that is what I am using here.  As a long-time resident of Napa, 
I assume he was buried there but I have not determined where he was buried.
