St. Helena Star, July 17, 1891
"James Giles, an old and respected citizen of Napa, died last Sunday [July 12] 
at the age of 74 years.  He had resided in Napa thirty-one years and was highly 
esteemed by all who knew him." END

St. Helena Star (St. Helena, California).  July 17, 1891 (Friday).  Page 3, 
Column 3.  He was buried in Tulocay Cemetery, Napa.
