He was a native Californian, who was raised in Napa and attended Napa High School. He attended U.C. Berkeley and graduated in 1935. He then went on to U.C. San Francisco and received his M.D. in 1943. He married Mary Aleene Acree. He served overseas as a medical officer in World War II. Dr. Reavis was in private practice as an internist and cardiologist in San Leandro for 20 years. In 1966, he and his family moved to Bakersfield where he was director of medical services of Kern County. In 1969, they returned to the Napa Valley where Dr. Reavis became chief of medicine at the Yountville Veterans Home. Additional Comments: The Napa Register (Napa, California).
