Napa County Reporter, September 1, 1866
"DIED. - On Wednesday last [August 29], Bernard Sheridan, known in Napa 
as "Barney, the Tailor," died in St. Mary's Hospital, San Francisco.  Barney 
has been suffering from a diseased leg, and some days since went to the city, 
and had his leg amputated, in hope of finding relief.  In a short time after 
the operation had been performed, erysipelas set in, and poor Barney died in a 
few hours.  The many friends of the warm-hearted, honest, industrious Barney, 
will, we know, regret to hear of his death." END

Napa County Reporter (Napa, California).  September 1, 1886 (Saturday). Page 3, 
Column 2.  I am not related to Mr. Sheridan, so I have not further information 
about he or his family.
