Napa Daily Journal, October 3, 1915
"Death of Aged Pioneer Lady

Mrs. Hannah White, a resident of Napa county for over 60 years, most of the 
time in Wooden valley, passed away at the residence of her son, Wirt White, 728 
N. Main street, this city, at 8:30 o'clock on Saturday evening [October 2].  
Mrs. White came across the plains to California with her family in 1846, from 
Michigan, settling first in Sacramento, near the old Sutter Fort.  After 
several years' residence there, she came to Napa county, where she has been 
ever since.

She has been in failing health since about a year ago, when she had a fall 
which broke her hip, compelling her to walk on crutches since.

Deceased was a native of Michigan, aged 76 years.  She is survived by five 
children - Henry Farley of Napa, Mrs. Ella Norsworthy of Sacramento, Wm. Farley 
of Elmira, Solano county, Wirt White of Napa, and Mrs. John O'Connor of Wooden 
valley.

Time of funeral will be announced later." END

Then in issue of October 6, 1915 (Wednesday), Page 5, Column 3:
"The funeral of the late Mrs. Hannah White was held from the Kyser Funeral 
Parlors Tuesday morning [October 5] at 10:30 o'clock.  There was a large 
attendance of the friends of the family.  Rev. H. C. Shrophshire officiated and 
there was appropriate music.  The remains were laid to rest in the cemetery in 
Wooden valley [Wooden Cemetery]." END

Additional Comments:
Napa Daily Journal (Napa County, California).  October 3, 1915 (Sunday).  Page 
5, Column 1.  She was the daughter of John Wooden and Elizabeth (Smith) 
Wooden.  She first married Anderson Farley.  She second married Benjamin White.
