"Pioneer Scion Passes

George C. Woode[n], [l]ast direct survivor of John Wooden, pioneer Napa County 
settler after whom Wooden Valley was named, was found dead in his home, 620 
Randolph Street [Napa], last week.  Police, called by neighbors, enterd the 
house.  He apprently had been dead since Sunday.

Born in Wooden Valley 78 years ago, Mr. Wooden attended schools there and then 
came to Napa, where he was a member of the Napa Police Department for many 
years." END

WOODEN - In Napa, May 15, George C. Wooden, brother of the late Jeff and John 
Wooden, Mrs. Mapes and Mrs. Frances Reavis; son of the late John and Louisa 
Wooden; uncle of Percy and Bill Mapes of Hayward, Mrs. Anita Garloff of Sonoma, 
Mrs. Olga Kilborn and Mrs. Frances Powers of Stockton, and Mrs. Vesta Graham of 
Napa; cousin of Mrs. Louisa Conner of Napa and Wirt P. White of Wooden Valley.  
A native of Wooden Valley, Napa County, aged 78 years.  A life member of Napa 
Aerie No. 161, F.O.E." END

Wooden was the son of John Wooden Jr. and Louisa P. (Cooper) Wooden.
