Daily Alta California, March 24, 1884
“Weddings. 
The principal social event in Napa during the past week was the wedding of Miss 
Dody Giles and Chas. Welti, which took place on Saturday last [March 22 ?] at 
the residence of the bride's father, on Coombs street. The nuptial knot was 
tied by Rev. W. A. Leacock, in the presence of a large number of friends and 
relatives. Refreshments followed the ceremony, after which the newly married 
pair departed for San Jose, where they are spending the honeymoon. Mr. and Mrs. 
Welti were the recipients of many beautiful presents. Among those who witnessed 
the ceremony were: F. Clark, Mrs. Levi Coombs, Annie and Lizzie Derry, Mrs. 
Hallett, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Phillips, Mrs. J. L. Kimball, Joseph Bradeley, 
Mr. and Mrs. Hottel, Mrs. H. Fowler, Esther Jepsen, Hottel and Smith, Miss 
Katie Strickland and Mrs. Strickland, Mrs. Edward Manassee, Mr. Swortz, Mrs. N. 
L. Neilsen, Napa Brass Band, Mrs. D. L. Haas, Captain Howland and wife, Mrsr. 
E. N. Haun, Mrs. George Stevenson, Mrs. Knudsen, Amelia and Lillie Kather, Mrs. 
S. I. Whetstone, Mrs. Thomas Derry, George Head, Emanuel Manassee, Mrs. S. L. 
Haas, Mrs. Mary Camp, Mr. and Mrs. F. N. Giles, Mr. and Mrs. L. Chapman, Mr. 
and Mrs. T. M. Moody, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Pearch, Mr. and Mrs. G. B. Clifford, 
Mr. and Mrs. J. Mitchell, Mr. and Mrs. N. Stoffels, Mr. and Mrs. J. Cain.” END
