BANET.—He was born at Hudsonville, Mississippi, June 26, 1855. At the age of nine he, with his parents, removed to Covington, Tennessee. Here he was reared and educated, and when eighteen years of age commenced the study of medicine at the Missouri medical college from which he graduated with credit to himself, after finishing two courses. He then commenced the practice of medicine in Covington, Tennessee, and became county physician, which place he filled two years. In April, 1881, he came to Nevada, and served until October as surgeon in the United States Indian service at Wadsworth. He then removed to Loyalton, Sierra valley, and has already acquired a very large and lucrative practice in Sierra, Clover, and Mohawk valleys.
