SHEER.—Mr. Sheer was born at Chesterville, Ohio, July 21, 1854. When he was about sixteen years old his parents removed to Woodford county, Illinois, where they still live. Roy received his education at the public schools of Ohio and Illinois, and at the age of twenty-three came to California by rail, arriving in Sutter county April 26, 1876, where he engaged in farming until the fall of 1881, when he moved to Randolph, and has since made that place his home. He is in the employ of G. Q. Buxton, manager of the Truckee and Plumas Eureka mine stage line and Randolph hotel.
