From the outer eastern edge of Quincy, take Quincy-LaPorte Road. Drive up this road to the stop sign. Turn left. Drive approximately .9 mile and turn left onto the dirt/gravel road where there is a sign pointing toward Howland Flat. Stay on the main road; make no turns. You'll cross a bridge eventually. Keep going; a total of approximately 10.2 miles. The first cemetery (the Catholic cemetery) is located on the right, just past the old buildings. From the first cemetery, take the dead-end road on the left (almost straight across from the 1st cemetery). Toward the end of the miner's pond (on the left), you'll see an area of heavy brush and a few stones. This is the 2nd cemetey (many of the stones are beneath the brush). From the 2nd cemetery, follow the walking path around the miner's pond (on the left) to a small, narrow metal piece of rebar (iron) in the ground. Follow the barely visible walking path down to more graves. You'll have to look around; they're spread out and are now overgrown with shrubs. Some of the persons listed here are from a previous survey (in about 1972). Many of the graves are now unmarked, as the markers have completely deteriorated. It appears that some markers have been stolen, as well (particularly in the 3rd cemetery).
