On that note, you might be interested to know that Plumas County was chock-full of gold and copper mining settlements in the late 1800's - early 1900's. Though established settlements (with post offices, even), many of them no longer exist. Researchers who know that their ancestor lived at Big Meadows, for example, might not know to look in Prattville for the person's grave. I don't know that you want to bother with this, but I figure that I'll give you the information, and you can decide what to do with it. Perhaps having a "Miscellaneous Plumas County Settlements" page might be beneficial to some researchers that know that their ancestors were Plumas County miners, but don't know where exactly to look for their graves. I am available for some research, and my fee depends on what the researcher is specifically looking for. Defunct Plumas County Mining Settlements Please note that the "see town" information below is based on the most logical place of burial for these defunct settlements. The "see town" is a suggestion only, and does not, with certainty, reflect where burials actually took place.
