At about 1 mile, turn left on NFS road 21N18. At the split in the road (about .7 mile), stay left. At about .6 mile after the split, there is a barely visible footpath on the left. The footpath is slightly marked by a row of stones leading up the short hill. There is a gulley just to the right of the footpath. Directions to the Willson grave will not be shared, at the request of LaPorte locals. The marker is incredibly difficult to find, anyway, and would be an arduous journey on foot for the casual "cemetery crawler." If you would really like to visit the grave, however, you may contact Beth, or you may inquire from Carla or John at the Rabbit Creek Antique Store and Gift Shop in LaPorte (on Main Street). Name Date of Birth Date of Death Notes Murray, Everett E. 6/3/1910 1/24/1993 The Murray graves are marked only by Murray, Gertrude I. 3/8/1900 2/23/1983 a small, flat, square stone (very dark). Willson, Howard Abt. 1825 11/20/1857 This grave is located atop a high ridge near LaPorte. He was a native of Solon, ME. There was once a fence around the grave, as seen in an old ambrotype of the area. The fence has long since disintigrated.
