Odd Fellows Cemetery (Waterman Road - Hilltop Cemetery) Elk Grove, California This list was compiled by John Bettencourt PRIOR TO 1980. (It was transcribed by Sloughhouse AGS & submitted 3/2001). The following nformation is taken from "History of Sacramento County" 1889, by Davis. "The Elk Grove Lodge, No. 274, I.O.O.F, was organized May 2, 1878 with the following charter members: John Wittich, Henry Hill, J.D. Hill, E.W. Walton, W.E. Everson, W.T. Wilson, A.Coffman, I.Higgins and N.W. Rollins all of whom were active members at the time of Davis' biographical writing. Of all the above, however, only E.W. Walton is interred; the others conspicuously absent from the final resting place that bore their fraternal title. C. S. Bradford was a charter member of Elk Grove Lodge, No. 110, A.O.U.W, established June 16, 1879. The Elk Grove Lodge, No. 449, I.O.G.T., was organized November 9, 1872. Charter members of this society interred at Odd Fellows Cemetery are as follows: J.H. Kent, G.L. Babcock." Additional information about a particular area of cemetery: To the right area of Row #1. Extension of Plot of Doty with apparent cement coping broken and missing. No names or markers. There is indication of an old iron fence or piping.
