Derek C. Dates, born in Sacramento, August 1, 1957, passed away in his Merced 
home January 17, 2005. 
Services will be held on Monday, January 24, 2005 at 10:30 a.m. at Elk Grove 
Funeral Chapel, 9101 Elk Grove Blvd., Elk Grove, CA 916-686-1888. Visitations 
will be Saturday, January 22, 2005 from 11:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. at Merced 
Evergreen Memorial Park and Funeral Home, 1480 B Street, Merced, CA 209-383-
4651 and Sunday, January 23, 2005 from 1:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at Elk Grove 
Funeral Chapel. Burial will be at St. Mary's Cemetery, 6700 21st Avenue, 
Sacramento, CA 916-452-4831. Arrangement handled by Evergreen Memorial Park and 
Funeral Home. 
The Derek Dates Memorial Fund is with the County Bank of Merced. Tracy
