Ingersoll, Editor (1893) C. P. BRYANT, a pioneer of California and an esteemed citizen of San Benito county, post office Mulberry, was born in Clark county, Kentucky, July 24, 1821. He was reared a farmer, and in 1850 came from his native State to California, landing in Sacramento on the 27th of August. For several years he lived in Yolo county, and from there went to Sonoma county, where he remained until 1868. That year he came to San Benito county. He lived in Bear Valley three years and in Hollister twelve years. He located his present farm on San Benito creek in 1889. Mr. Bryant was married, in Missouri, in 1854, to Miss Angeline Ashcraft, a native of Kentucky. They have two daughters: Allie, wife of S. B. Hubbel; and Emily M., wife of F. W. Triplett.
