CHAPTER XII. TWELVE YEARS' RAILROAD TRAFFIC. THE following official statistics, kindly furnished by G. L. Lansing, secretary any controller of the Southern Pacific Company, are very significant as showing the industrial progress of the counties through which the "Coast" division of the Southern Pacific Company runs, during the twelve years past. These figures show a steady, healthy and vigorous increase of traffic during the entire period specified: SOUTHERN PACIFIC R. R. CO., OF CALIFORNIA, COAST DIVISION. YEAR. EARNINGS. MILEAGE.
