HARRIET CALL ANSWERS SUMMONS Respected Lady Passes Away After Months of Ill Health and Suffering Was One of the Old Settlers of San Benito County Mrs. Harriet Call, one of the pioneer mothers of San Benito County passed away last evening at the family residence on East Street. Mrs. Call was 71 years of age and has not been in good health for many months past. Recently her condition has grown worse and the attending physician and her family had given up hopes of recovery several weeks ago. The deceased was a native of Missouri and came to California in 1872 with her husband M. B. Call. They resided near Pleasanton for a year and then moved to the Panoche valley in this county. About 14 years ago Mr. And Mrs. Call moved to Santa Clara in hopes that her health might be benefited and spent 10 years there. The change did not bring about the desired end, so four years ago they returned to Hollister. Mrs. Call had a large number of friends throughout the county and her loss will be deeply felt, both here and in Emmet and Panoche where many of her old time neighbors still reside. Four children are left to mourn with the bereaved husband over the loss of a kind wife and devoted mother. They are Mrs. Nellie Miller of Hollister; Hurd Call of Emmet; Geo Call of Mayfield and Mrs. Belle McComas of San Jose, besides a number of grandchildren. The funeral will be held from the tomorrow afternoon at 2 o’clock and interment will take place in the Odd Fellows cemetery.
