CENTENARIAN DIES IN HOLLISTER
The death of the second centenarian within a week in San Benito county occurred
Tuesday night when Mrs. Ellen SOTO, 104 passed away at 1017 Powell street,
Hollister. On December 16, Mrs. Massena YBARRA, 102, died at the county Hospital.
Mrs. SOTO was one of the oldest, if not the oldest, residents of this part of
the state. She was born in Monterey county in 1816, and spent most of her life
in the place of her birth and in this county.
The deceased is survived by her two living daughters, Mrs. Simon and and Steven
LITTLEJOHN, and by three living sons, Benjamin, Henry and Lawrence SOTO.
She was one of the few remaining residents of this county who has attained an
age of over 100 years.
George Grunnagle was in charge of the funeral.
