C. Wolfe, Editor RICHARDSON, Friend W.: Governor of the State of California from 1923 to 1927, was born in Michigan. Came to California at an early age. Educated in the public schools of San Bernardino, and the college of the same name at San Bernardino. Engaged in the newspaper publishing business, and for twenty years has served as President of the California State Press Association. Appointed State Printer by Governor Hiram Johnson in 1912. Elected State Treasurer in 1915 and served two terms, resigning in 1923 to enter the Governorship of the state to which he had been elected. His term of office as chief executive will expire in 1927. The Governor is a member of the Sutter Club of Sacramento, and the Los Angeles Athletic Club of Los Angeles. Is a Mason and a Shriner, an Odd Fellow, an Elk, and a Woodman. He maintains a residence in Berkeley; but his official address is the State Capitol, Sacramento California.
