Richard Alan Elliott 69, of Big Bear Lake - formerly of Santa Ana - passed surrounded by his 
family on October 13, 2005, of complications from thyroid cancer at the City of Hope. Sevices 
were held at Fairhaven Mortuary of Santa Ana. Richard grew up on the family orange ranch in 
north Santa Ana. He attended Santa Ana High School and Fullerton College, where he was a star 
swimmer. For 25 years, he was a chemist with Harshaw Chemical Company and after moving to Big 
Bear in 1979, worked at both Goldmine and Snow Summit ski resorts.

Richard and his dedicated wife, Marianna, had recently celebrated their 50th wedding aniversary. 
Together, they enjoyed traveling in their motorhome with friends Gordan & Sally Lohre, collectibles, 
their grandchildren and frequent trips to Las Vegas.

He is survived by his loving wife Marianna, daughter Vickie Lynn Oland and her husband Rick Oland 
with their children Brian Patrick, Kevin Michael and Amber Lynn; daughter Jeanie Diane Herbert and 
her son Austin James; son Rick Alan Elliott, his fiancee Carolee Jean Junk, Rick's daughter Beckie 
Rae and Rick's son Matthew Alan, greatgrandaughter Lexi Emma; son Steven Leonard Elliott, his wife 
Susan Lianne Elliott, their son Justin Louis and James Leonard in spirit who passed in 1998.

He will be missed by all who knew and loved him!
