Born April 30, 1921, in Elmhurst, N.Y,. Leonard retired in 1981 after a career in marketing, with service in the Army and a customs position with the U.S. Governement. Len enjoyed traveling, people and his family. He loved life. He was considered "one of the good guys" by all who knew him. He especially enjoyed boating, camping, and traveling with friends. He traveled all over the world with his wife, Marion. His favorite trip they took was to Singapore. His kindness, winning smile, quiet strength, and unwavering integrity enriched all who knew him. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and communities where he lived. Leonard was a member of the Elks Club, Lions Club, president of the Big Bear Senior Citizens Center for two years, and coordinator of the Big Bear Travel Club for over five years. Leonard is survived by his wife of 62 years, Marion E. Gannon of Chino Hills, Calif.; daughters Barbara (Donald) Petersen of Cedaredge, Colo., and Patricia (Ron) Dives of Hacienda Heights, Calif.: six grandchildren Christine Jacobson, Ted (Greer) Baker, Kathleen Baker, Eric (Carrie) Dives, Darren (Renee) Dives, and Kelly (Adam) MacKenzie. Six great-grandchildren CJ Jacobson, Cody Jacobson, Samantha Dives, Madison Dives, Kassidy Dives, and Sean Dives. A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, March 1, 2006, at 7 p.m. at Aegis Senior Living, 14837 Peyton Drive, Chino Hills, Calif. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the American Lung Association.
