Son of Pam and Steve Hoover, beloved big brother to Ben and Fonda Hoover. His loving gramma Gerie Harris and a whole big brood of aunts and uncles and cousins who live all over this country, but are with him in heart. Born and raised in Big Bear, his greatest passion was BMX racing and jumping, building jumps all over this Valley. His love for snow skiing started at the age of five with the Park District's "B" program, and he achieved the big red "B." Took him three seasons to get it. Born to construct, he helped his neighbor Richard Robinson build his dome house at the age of five. He graduated to building with Mike Joha when he was 18. He considered Mike and his family an extended family of his own and looked up to Mike for advice on life. From here, he worked with Rick Babin and his crew. Rick gave Nathan the encouragement and trust to extend his talents to work toward being a master craftsman. For that, we are, and Nathan is, so very grateful. We will all miss him so very much, words can't say. May he find the perfect hill - our love will never die. A celebration of Nathan's life will be on Friday, Oct. 21, at the Snow Summit Inn at the base of Snow Summit from 4 to 6 p.m. We wholeheartedly would love to see all of his friends come and share memories. If donations would like to be made in his memory, please donate to the Big Bear Valley Recreational Park District (BBVRPD) Ski Park Program, P.O. Box 2832, Big Bear Lake, CA 92315 or the Adaptive Ski Program (USARC), P.O. Box 2897, Big Bear Lake, CA 92315. Love you Nater.
